So it turns out I can sketch this in under 15 min with 30 min of coloring. Plus they are super fun.

Bookmarks
No I didn’t forget to post. I was using some of my new techniques to work on a bookmark.
Today I was in the mood for monsters. So here you go. I hope you enjoy.
Colored pencil class
Things I didn’t know
– lighter pigments have more wax then darker pigments.
– use a really light touch and put more layers on. (So I knew this in theory but didn’t know the sharp tip light touch practice).
– you can use a tea steeper and cotton ball to make a soft cloudy like background.
-keep the tooth of the paper as long as you can. It’ll hold more pigment ( ok I knew that but knowing and doing are different)
– a warm table will melt the wax in the pencils which makes it look more ink like. (I know why not just use ink? I don’t know. Maybe cause you’ve decided you only work in pencil and you don’t like it).
Dancing stuffed giraffe
It’s not quite done but I’ve been enjoying drawing stuffed animals. So here’s the giraffe without his spotlight.
Foxy Lady
Spent a little over an hr tonight drawing foxy lady.
Then I colored her which probably took 30 min.
